July 4th and 5th, 2008 - The Aberdeen Highland Games is a celebration of Scottish heritage and tradition in the Upper Hunter Valley . Scotland comes to Aberdeen with the gathering of the clans from all around Australia.  A weekend of highland flings, caber tossing and kilt twirling !!  Here at Segenhoe Inn on Friday July 4 we will be piping in the haggis followed by a dinner of hearty  Scottish fare.  Pipers and voices loud in praise of all things Scottish will echo across Aberdeen well into the night as we follow the lead of the fabulous Toni Stevens in song and tall stories and solve the riddles of Scottish trivia.Then dance the night away to the sounds of Mo Award Winner, Rhett Haigh at the piano. Prizes to be won!! Be sure to wear your very best kilt!!

Watch the parade of bands from all around NSW from the 2nd floor balcony of Segenhoe, with champagne or hot chocolate in hand and then walk across the road to the park for a day of fun and frivolity at the games. Book a romantic candlelit white linen/silver service dinner in the fine dining room on Saturday night. Then a leisurely drive home on Sunday via the vineyards of the Upper or Lower Hunter. October 28, 2007 - Happy Halloween!!!!!    Halloween horror awaits  you at Segenhoe Inn where we will be brewing up a storm in our cavern of blood!!  Our witches brew of pumpkin soup, batwing stew, spider stroganoff and frogs heart trifle, all washed down with a pint of vampires blood will more than satisfy at the bewitching hour.  Don your best spooky clobber for a haunting experience and prizes to be won. This event needs to be a booking of at least 16 people representing a single group and needs to be booked at least 1 month in advance. A great birthday or other celebration idea.
