Aberdeen Highland Games
July 2nd and 3rd, 2010 - The Aberdeen Highland Games is a celebration of Scottish heritage and tradition in the Upper Hunter Valley. Scotland comes to Aberdeen with the gathering of the clans from all around Australia. A weekend of highland flings, caber tossing and kilt twirling !! Here at Segenhoe Inn on Friday July 2nd we will be piping in the haggis followed by a dinner of hearty Scottish fare. Pipers and voices loud in praise of all things Scottish will echo across Aberdeen well into the night as we follow the lead of the fabulous Toni Stevens in song and tall stories and solve the riddles of Scottish trivia. Prizes to be won!! Be sure to wear your very best kilt!!
Watch the parade of bands from all around NSW just across the road in the park. A day of fun and frivolity at the games. Book a romantic candlelit white linen/silver service dinner in the fine dining room on Saturday night. Then a leisurely drive home on Sunday via the vineyards of the Upper or Lower Hunter.
