Among the animals carried on Macqueen’s commissioned ships, in keeping with the nationality of the free settlers on board, was the Blue Merle Scottish cattle dog. This dog was crossed with the dingo down Blairmore Lane, just over the bridge at Aberdeen and so today, we have the world’s best cattle dog, the Blue Heeler, bred by John Hall. This very fresh looking blue and white room is a favourite among guests. The mirror on the wall has been embedded with blue and white crockery fragments found during renovation around the Inn many years ago and could very well date back to the 1800’s..
