F3 FREEWAY
The F3 Freeway is the most direct link between Sydney and the Hunter Valley, taking the Cessnock turnoff and eventually meeting up with the New England Highway. Follow the signs to Branxton, Singleton, Muswellbrook and Aberdeen. Upper Hunter Country starts as you reach Singleton.
The New England Highway can also be accessed from the F3 Freeway via the Lower Hunter coalfield towns and the Pokolbin district, joining the highway at Branxton. This diversion will take you through the vineyards of the Lower Hunter
PUTTY ROAD
This scenic route leaves the Sydney basin at Windsor and follows the western edge of the Yengo National Park to Putty and Bulga and reaches the New England Highway at Singleton. For residents of western Sydney and the Blue Mountains 'The Putty Road' is the shortest route to Upper Hunter Country
