Thomas’ wife had borne him five children and was too frail to make the 9 month journey to New South Wales. So, as the boys often do, Thomas took himself a mistress by the name of Madam Ramus. To further reflect her status, the room is decorated in burgundys and pinks with feathers, boudoir pictures, crystal candle holders and a gilded standard mirror which all add to the overall ambience. Macqueen had a marble bath sent from England for her and legend has it that she bathed in goats’ milk and then fed it to the convicts!! That marble bath sits today, unfortunately, in an obsolete museum at Glenbawn Dam.

Beautiful. Loved everything. Definitely will be back.” Jade and James, Castle Hill 24/05/2009

“First of all Len and I would like to thank you for our wonderful stay at Segenhoe, it was certainly a glimpse of the past and we truly felt we fitted quite comfortably into this romantic atmosphere, wonderful! We also met some very nice people ……...We were also pleased you told us about Nundle what a quaint little place and certainly worth the visit.”
