When Thomas Macqueen wrote a letter to the Crown Solicitor in 1837 describing the Inn, it included ….. “five bedrooms and two dormitories for male and female servants above”. The Upstairs Maids named in honour of those servants who worked on the estate is a very pretty and “girlie” room favoured by bridesmaids staying at the Inn or single ladies travelling together.
